Live at Floors Castle brought a trilogy of open-air concerts to the grounds of the historic Borders estate, with headline performances including Del Amitri, Faithless and Beluga Lagoon.
THE BRIEF
Working alongside Rogue City Productions as the primary production agency, our brief was to deliver the technical equipment and overlay behind the stage production, forming part of the wider turnkey solution for the promoter.
With three different headline performances across consecutive nights, the setup needed scale, flexibility and plenty of visual impact.
WHAT WE DID
Across the flown rig, Chauvet Outcast fixtures delivered beam movement and colour, supported by 24 LEDJ Spectra Pinspots and a dozen Starburst effect units creating a canopy of laser effects above the performances. Ayrton Perseo and Diablo moving heads added scale and depth across the advance and side trusses, while COLORdash PAR and Showtec Helix fixtures took care of the stage and colour washes.
Haze and smoke helped bring the full lighting design into focus once darkness fell. But a lighting show of this scale needs plenty happening where the audience can’t see it too. We managed the heavy mains and distribution, draping and technical infrastructure behind the setup, with our Production Managers, Lighting Operators and Technical Crew on site throughout the run.
THE RESULTS
Across three nights, the setup gave each headline performance room to have its own identity while maintaining the scale required for a run of outdoor shows at Floors Castle.
And once the sun went down, the combination of moving light, colour, haze and laser turned the stage into a fitting focal point against one of Scotland’s most distinctive live-event backdrops.
