Christmas Wonderland At Perth Riverside

Fact Sheet

Our Services

“The Norie Miller Walk has been lit up to create a bright and merry festive extravaganza”- The Courier

The Brief

To design, conceptualise, and deliver a brand-new city centre Christmas extravaganza event for the city of Perth. This included full event management, stakeholder and supplier management, sponsorship and charity partnership management, inception of brand, website and social media marketing, creative technical production and design, entertainment, health and safety, and licensing. The objective was to ensure that it was a safe and interactive Christmas experience that could be enjoyed by all during the pandemic.

What we did

21CC Events & Design and 21CC Productions – inspiration for the brief came from the identification of the Norie Miller Walk venue as an excellent space to deliver a truly magical Christmas experience. 21CC Productions were responsible for delivering the technical production and activity associated with Christmas Wonderland at Perth Riverside.  21CC Events & Design were responsible for event producing, planning, and overseeing the entirety of the project from inception to delivery. Guidelines and restrictions were ever-changing with new strains and variants of Covid-19 emerging unexpectedly, so the events team were responsible for liaising with EventScotland and Perth and Kinross Council to fully mitigate any risks for the public during this time.

21CC Events & Design also championed a partnership like no other with local charity PKAVS which resulted in hundreds of families they support gaining free admission into the event to spread the Christmas cheer far and wide.

The Results

A magical Christmas extravaganza that firmly put Perth on the Christmas map for 2021 competing with the other major Christmas offerings in Edinburgh and Glasgow. In its inaugural year, the event yielded national media coverage from STV, The Scotsman, Daily Record, The Herald, MSN, Forever Edinburgh, The Edinburgh Reporter, Edinburgh Evening News, Edinburgh Live, BBC Radio Scotland and The Sunday Post to name a few.

Christmas Wonderland attracted audiences from all over Scotland and, importantly, it gave hundreds of families – supported by PKAVS – an opportunity to attend for free. Multiple businesses, both local and from further afield, helped to achieve these results and generously opted to buy tickets in large volumes to be donated to PKAVS, all in the name of helping the vulnerable, the power of partnership and true Christmas spirit.

The Verdict

“Absolutely loved it. The lights created glorious colours in the trees and got you right in the mood for Christmas. The atmosphere just makes all of life’s pressures disappear and gives you time to take a breath. Seeing the kids excitement as they explored all the scenes, watching their faces when the amazing elves interacted with them was precious. As for Santa, never seen a better one! Well worth a visit”
